Gudauri

Gudauri sits on the Georgian Military Highway: ~120 km / 2–2.5 hours from Tbilisi (marshrutka from Didube, GoTrip transfer, taxi; 4×4 preferred in winter — Jvari Pass can close). Base ~1,990–2,200 m, Sadzele top ~3,276–3,307 m, vertical >1,200 m. Dozens of km of marked runs (sources cite ~35–70+ km) plus vast treeless freeride and heli-ski. Season typically late December to mid/late April; best snow February–March. New Gudauri is the ski-in/ski-out hub; the old village is quieter.

    New Gudauri by gondolas/Magic Carpet — Ski Gudauri (multiple desks), KANT, Fanatic, Adrenaline, Irish Georgia and others: least gear hauling

    Hotel/lodge desks (Gudauri Lodge, Carpe Diem, etc.) if that’s where you stay

    Village / Recreational Area — often calmer and sometimes cheaper. Walk-in guide from ~50–70 GEL/day for a basic kit; online booking and Early Pick Up from 17:00 save the morning, especially December lift-ticket queues

Local tip

for freeride take Premium + a guide (avalanche risk on the plateau is real). Russian and English almost everywhere. Pay the balance at the shop in GEL (card/cash). Same-day from Tbilisi: don’t count on empty rental desks at 10:00 without a booking.

New Gudauri is slope-side by the Magic Carpet (Ski Gudauri, KANT, Fanatic, etc.). Village / Recreational Area is quieter and often cheaper if you stay there. Check distance-to-lift.
How do I get from Tbilisi?
~120 km on the Military Highway, 2–2.5 h. Marshrutka from Didube, transfer or taxi; 4×4 in winter — Jvari Pass can close.
Freeride gear?
Look for the Freeride badge and Premium tier (e.g. Freeride Desk).
Cancel / change dates?
Cancel up to 48h (deposit minus 5% fee + transfer costs). Date changes via support if capacity allows.
